SCP Introduction

This e-learning SCP Resource Pack is developed for education on Sustainable Consumption & Production available as electronic files targeting teachers / lectuers of tertiary and university level education in Sri Lanka.

Learning Outcome

Appreciate the fundamentals and concept of SCP.
Recognize the central role and means of changing consumption pattern and behaviour in realizing SCP.
Understand cleaner production as sustainable resource management, waste minimization and management approach.
Demonstrate importance of product improvement and redesign as part of sustainable manufacturing that reduces waste pollution, energy and water consumption and end of life waste management designing for recycling and reuse of parts.
Explore, explain and understand the role of Sustainable Supply Chain Management (SSCM) and Sustainable Public Procurement (SPP) in integrating resource efficient consumption and waste minimization.

The course module provides an overview of the changing pattern of production and consumption of goods and services, from closing the resource loop by practicing sustainable resource use and end-of-life waste management in more holistic ways.
Considerations from material extraction and design stage to use/consumption, and the end-of-life phase of products and services, as well as making the entire chain of production, supply and consumption in a more environmentally sustainable and socially and economically responsible ways to influence consumption behaviour.

SCP search function

The SCP site search uses Google as a search engine. Texts, names or search terms entered into the search field will be transmitted to Google servers.

Social media plugins

This website uses social plugins as part of a "two-click solution" from Facebook, Twitter and Google+. The social media plugins are not activated until you click on them. Only then a direct connection is established between your browser and the social media servers. The NPSC Sri Lanka has no influence on the nature and scope of the data that the plugin transmits to the servers.
