Ministry of Mahaweli Development and Environment awarded four tropies to the Best Performers of National Green Reporting System (NGRS) in Sri Lanka on 29.10.2019 at the Nelum Pokuna Theater under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena organized by Central Environment Authority. 

The award winners are

1. Thalawakelle Tea Estates PLC (Tier 5) - The Best Green Reporter
2. Akkaaipaththu Base Hospital (Tier 2) - Merit Award Winner
3. Aitken Spence Travels Pvt Ltd (Tier 2) - Merit Award Winner
4. KElani Vally Plantation PLC (Tier 2) - Merit Award Winner

The NGRS is an effective communication tool that provides information on sustainability performances, so that sustainable performance can be reported based on the social, economic and environmental variables under five Tiers of indicators of their choice. Ministry of Mahaweli Development and Environment established the NGRS in 2011 with a vision to promote sustainability performance in the manufacturing and service sectors.
